Telangana CM Revanth Reddy to Invite Sonia Gandhi for State Formation Day Celebrations

by Deccan Voice

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is expected to visit Delhi in the next few days to invite Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sonia Gandhi as the chief guest for the Telangana State Formation Day celebrations on June 2. The state government plans to organize the event on a grand scale.

Revanth Reddy, who will be in Kerala on Monday for a private event, is likely to travel to Delhi from Kochi. Sources close to the CM indicate that he plans to meet Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday to extend the invitation for the event at the Parade Grounds, which will include a massive public meeting.

During the celebrations, the Telangana official anthem, written by renowned poet Ande Sri and composed by Keeravani, will be unveiled in the presence of Sonia Gandhi. This event is seen as a prestige issue for Revanth Reddy and the Congress, marking their first term in power since Telangana’s formation in 2014 during the Congress-led rule at the Centre.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who is currently campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab, is expected to join Revanth Reddy in Delhi. Additionally, several key state ministers are likely to accompany the CM to invite Sonia Gandhi and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge to the celebrations.
