In a recent development that has raised serious questions about public safety and social harmony, the Mumbai Police have arrested a man from Noida for allegedly issuing a bomb threat during the Ganesh festival. The arrest of 50-year-old Ashwin Kumar Supra has drawn particular attention because, according to police reports, the threatening message was sent in the name of a jihadi organization, “Lashkar-e-Jihadi.”
The Details of the Arrest
Ashwini Kumar, the astrologer from Bihar residing in Noida was arrested for sending Mumbai terror threat ‘34 human bombs’. He sent the threat message to Mumbai police in the name of his friend Firoz to frame him. Yesterday, Mumbai Police had received a bomb blast threat via WhatsApp on the traffic police’s number ahead of Anant Chaturdashi. The message claimed 400 kilograms of RDX was planted in 34 vehicles, and 14 Pakistani terrorists had entered India under “Lashkar-e-Jihadi.”
Through a rapid investigation, the police traced the source of the message to a phone and SIM card used by Ashwin Kumar Supra in Noida. The accused has since been arrested and is being brought to Mumbai for further questioning.
A Disturbing Pattern of Blame
The use of a jihadi organization’s name by an individual who is not from that community has led many critics and observers to highlight a disturbing pattern. This incident is being cited as another example of individuals reportedly attempting to frame the Muslim community and use their names to create public fear and chaos.
Critics argue that these acts are deliberate and malicious. The goal is to incite fear, fuel communal tensions, and create a false narrative that a specific community is a threat to law and order. By making a bomb threat in the name of an Islamic organization, the accused allegedly intended to immediately direct public suspicion and anger towards Muslims, even before the facts of the case could be established.
The Goal: To Incite Hatred and Islamophobia
This alleged act, like other similar incidents that have recently come to light, is viewed by many as a “false flag” operation. The initial shock and fear created by such threats often overshadow the investigation, allowing the intended misinformation to spread quickly and widely. By the time law enforcement exposes the true identity and motive of the accused, the damage of creating Islamophobia and distrust is already done.
In a diverse country like India, such malicious acts pose a significant threat to national unity and social cohesion. The arrest of Ashwin Kumar Supra underscores the importance of a thorough investigation and responsible reporting to expose such criminal acts and prevent them from succeeding in their goal of dividing society.
