America: An Unreliable Ally

The American political system, comprising the Executive, Congress, and Judiciary, creates an environment where long-term agreements are unreliable. The Executive branch, led by the President, often makes abrupt policy changes driven by the current administration’s agenda. This instability undermines global trust, making it difficult for allies to rely on the U.S. for consistent economic and strategic partnerships.

For example, President Trump’s withdrawal from the Iran Nuclear Deal and the Paris Climate Accords, which were significant policies under Obama, showcased this unpredictability. Similarly, Biden’s reversal of numerous Trump-era executive orders emphasized America’s inconsistent stance.

Such frequent policy shifts disrupt international relations and create challenges for allied nations, such as the UK’s navigation of Brexit and the fallout from America’s abrupt exit from Afghanistan. Reliable partnerships require predictable and stable policies, which are often lacking in the U.S. due to its dynamic political landscape.

The Judiciary, particularly the Supreme Court, and ongoing Congressional investigations into major corporations like Facebook and Google, also play significant roles in shaping America’s domestic and international reputation. However, the frequent changes in the Executive branch’s policies highlight the challenges of relying on the U.S. as a stable ally.
