Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) cricketer Yash Dayal is once again facing serious legal trouble, with an FIR (First Information Report) registered against him in Jaipur. He stands accused of allegedly raping a minor girl over a two-year period, utilizing emotional blackmail and promises of a cricketing career. This development marks the second such case against the 27-year-old fast bowler, adding a grave dimension to his public profile.
The Allegations: Exploitation and Repeated Assault
According to the complaint filed at Jaipur’s Sanganer Police Station, the alleged sexual assaults began in 2023 when the girl was 17 years old. The initial incident reportedly took place in a hotel in the Sitapura area of Jaipur. The victim claims that Dayal contacted her again in April 2025 (while he was in Jaipur for IPL duty), luring her to a hotel where a second alleged assault occurred.
The case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, alongside relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), underscoring the severity of the charges involving a minor. Police have commenced investigations, including recording the survivor’s statement.
A Second Case Adds to Legal Woes
This new FIR in Jaipur follows a separate rape complaint already filed against Yash Dayal in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, by another woman. In that instance, the accuser alleged sexual exploitation by Dayal over a five-year relationship under the false promise of marriage. The Allahabad High Court had previously stayed Dayal’s arrest in the Ghaziabad case on July 15, adding layers of legal complexity to his situation.
The ongoing investigations into both cases cast a significant shadow over the cricketer’s career, particularly given his recent participation with the IPL 2024 title-winning RCB squad.
Investigation Underway and Silence from the Accused
As the Jaipur police proceed with their investigation, the allegations have sent shockwaves through the cricketing fraternity and the wider public. Officials are diligently collecting evidence and scrutinizing the claims. As of the latest reports, Yash Dayal has not yet issued any public statement regarding either of the two serious cases he is currently facing.
The unfolding legal proceedings will be closely watched, as the serious nature of the charges, particularly those under the POCSO Act, demands a thorough and impartial investigation to ensure justice for the alleged victims.
