Nishant Agrawal, an engineer formerly employed at BrahMos Aerospace, was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Nagpur court for espionage. Arrested in 2018, Agrawal was found guilty of passing sensitive information to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). His arrest followed a joint operation by the Military Intelligence and Anti-Terrorism Squads of Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. He was charged under the Official Secrets Act, the Indian Penal Code, and the Information Technology Act.
