A police inspector in Telangana, Chamakuri Sudhakar, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for accepting a bribe of ₹3 lakh. Sudhakar, who works in the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) at the Central Crime Station (CCS) in Hyderabad, demanded ₹5 lakh from Mani Ranga Swamy, a resident of Old Bowenpally, Secunderabad, to favorably handle an investigation against him.

ACB officials caught Sudhakar red-handed while he accepted ₹3 lakh from Swamy. Sudhakar had previously taken an advance payment of ₹5 lakh and initially demanded ₹15 lakh to settle the case. The bribe money was recovered from Sudhakar’s shoulder bag, and it tested positive in a chemical examination (The South First) (The Siasat Daily).

Upon realizing the presence of ACB personnel, Sudhakar attempted to flee, abandoning his bag. However, the officials managed to apprehend him.
